Recipe For Magical Sparkle Using 100% Swarovski Elements.

image

So we get many messages from people asking how we create our embellishments…. so we thought we would share a bit of the magical recipe with you…. we cannot share the whole process as part of it is a secret ingredient that we have to keep to ourselves :)

So what goes into one of our designs?

RECIPE

Diamonds and Pearls in Pink & Lilac Theme

Phone:

Motorola Gleam

Ingredients:

46 different types of Swarovski Elements

Crystal cement

A great deal of patience

A sprinkle of love

Secret Ingredient

Time To Create

2 days

Time to Cook

24 Hours

METHOD

First we have to prepare the phone, this is to make sure the crystals don’t just peel off and we also have to make sure the colour underneath the crystals matches the crystals.

This involves the magic secret part, this process takes about 24 hours to complete and only then is the phone ready to be dressed in the finest crystals money can buy :)

We then go to our shiny cupboard and find all the crystals we need. In some cases we only need a couple of colours in 2 or 3 sizes, but for this particular recipe we used 46 different Swarovski Elements in various shapes, sizes and colours.

We then carefully lay out all the different Swarovski Elements and start to create!

We apply each crystal one at a time, fitting them together like a jigsaw puzzle, finding the right size and colour the fit the one next to it.

The crystals range in size from about 7mm right down to just over 1mm.

As you can imagine trying to pick up a 1mm crystal is hard enough in itself! We hand place over 1800 crystals, cementing each one securely as we go.

This process can take up to 2 days as the crystals need to be secure on one side of the phone before we can start on the other.

When the last crystal has been placed the item is left for 24 hours. For the first 4 hours we check the item every hour to make sure all the little sparkly elements are still where they should be, then we let it rest.

After 24 hours we check over the item to make sure every element has behaved and is secure. Then and only then do we place it in it’s velvet gift box hand tied with a satin ribbon, topped of with a single Swarovski crystal.

The item is now ready to go home, back to it’s anxious owner and is destined for a life of fame and adoration!

All boxed up and ready to go…..

Bye for now, more news and sparkly stuff next time!
